The Car Album
The Car Album was written and recorded entirely in a moving car. The idea for the album came about when Irritating Rainbow decided to visit some friends in Rochester, NY as part of a birthday surprise.
After Peter confirmed that it would be possible, preparations were made and the car was packed with a Digital 8-track, a mixer, mic and pre amp, as well as a small drum machine, miscellaneous keyboards and guitars. Although an acoustic guitar was brought on the trip, it never made it out of the trunk.
The album was recorded in two, 13 hours stretches, on the way to and from Rochester. Some songs were recorded in Canada. Also, the songs appear in the order in which they were conceived.
